Job description

Join Optum, a global health services and technology organization dedicated to improving lives through innovative care solutions. Our mission is to connect individuals with the essential resources, pharmacy benefits, and data they need to thrive. At Optum, you'll discover an inclusive culture, collaborate with skilled professionals, and benefit from comprehensive development opportunities. Be part of a team that advances health optimization worldwide, making a tangible impact on communities.

This Capability Manager role is instrumental in driving automation initiatives and optimizing business processes within the healthcare sector. You will bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions, ensuring the successful deployment of projects that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth process walkthroughs with Subject Matter Experts to capture intricate process details. You will be responsible for documenting Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for automation opportunities and creating comprehensive End-to-End process maps. Developing Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBAs) for assigned projects and crafting features and user stories within Agile frameworks like Rally are also core duties. Effectively communicating business requirements to the technology team and collaborating for timely task completion are essential. Leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) end-to-end and performing volumetric analysis to identify and prioritize opportunities will be critical.

Additional responsibilities involve leading stakeholder calls across business and technical teams, participating in PI Planning, and adhering to all company policies and directives. This role requires proactive engagement and a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the job.

Qualifications

We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate with a proven ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into clear requirement documents for automation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage calls with senior business leaders and demonstrate exceptional time management and prioritization capabilities to meet deadlines. The ability to multitask in a dynamic environment, adapt to changes, and maintain focus under pressure is crucial.

This role requires pro-active problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and a self-driven approach, alongside the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A passion for learning new technologies and methodologies, with minimal disruption to ongoing responsibilities, is highly valued. Required qualifications include a graduate degree, Black Belt certification with hands-on experience in leading critical AI/ML and RPA projects, and a minimum of 9 years of overall work experience, with at least 4 years in project management. Familiarity with the Rally application and extensive knowledge of UHC Claims and Appeals are necessary. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Visio/Draw.io, and PowerPoint is essential, along with proven communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
