Job description

Drive business development initiatives within the energy, utilities, and oil & gas sectors, focusing on AI-native solutions. This role involves developing compelling proposals, crafting industry viewpoints, and managing program execution to support client engagements and drive growth.

Contribute to cutting-edge AI strategies, translating complex sector challenges into actionable use cases. Build robust business cases that clearly outline value, feasibility, and commercial viability, considering regulatory landscapes and client-specific needs.

Develop and maintain a strong industry perspective on AI's impact on various operational models within the energy ecosystem. Conduct in-depth research on target accounts and market trends to inform strategic positioning and thought leadership.

Oversee the operational rhythm of the AI solutions program, ensuring effective pipeline management, risk assessment, and progress reporting. Build reusable assets and support go-to-market strategies to empower account teams.

Responsibilities

Conduct end-to-end research and develop compelling storylines for AI-native proposals and executive viewpoints targeting energy, utilities, and oil & gas clients. Translate complex sector problems into AI use cases across critical areas like asset performance, predictive maintenance, grid operations, field service, and supply chain management, assessing value, feasibility, and data readiness. Construct detailed business cases, including value pools, ROI logic, commercial model options, and underlying assumptions, while understanding the influence of regulated returns and capital cycles on purchasing decisions. Collaborate effectively with solution architects, presales specialists, and delivery leads across the US, Europe, and India to ensure proposal credibility and executability. Develop and maintain strategic viewpoints on how AI, including agentic AI, is transforming upstream, midstream, downstream, power generation, transmission, distribution, and utility operating models. Research target accounts, analyzing their strategies, financials, asset bases, regulatory environments, AI/data maturity, and competitive landscape to identify potential buying triggers. Continuously track and analyze forces shaping the energy sector, such as energy transition, electrification, and AI-driven demand, converting insights into sharp market positioning. Produce high-quality thought leadership content that resonates with operations, strategy, and technology leaders in the sector. Manage the program's operating rhythm, including pipeline tracking, pursuit status monitoring, ownership assignment, deadline management, and risk mitigation. Build and maintain reusable assets such as use-case libraries, research playbooks, proposal frameworks, and maturity assessments to enhance program efficiency. Support go-to-market activities and sales enablement efforts to ensure account teams can effectively communicate industry POVs independently. Report on program progress, outcomes, and key performance indicators to leadership.

Qualifications

Requires an MBA or equivalent substantial experience in relevant domains, complemented by 2 to 6 years in strategy or operations consulting, industrial or technology consulting, corporate strategy, or product management. Exceptional candidates in their final year with strong internship experience will also be considered. Possess a demonstrated and informed point of view on Artificial Intelligence, capable of articulating its value and limitations without relying on jargon. Exhibit strong structured thinking abilities and swift, rigorous research skills, enabling the generation of well-supported answers on unfamiliar companies or industries within days. Excel in both spoken and written communication, with strong storytelling capabilities tailored for senior executives, and comfort in building presentations and business cases. Demonstrate comfort and effectiveness working across different time zones with global teams. Preferred qualifications include exposure to oil and gas, power and utilities, renewables, or energy services through consulting, operational roles, or energy-focused internships/projects. Possess a working knowledge of how the energy sector generates revenue and operates under regulation, including asset lifecycles, regulated vs. merchant economics, capital and operational expenditure cycles, and HSE requirements. Ideally have hands-on familiarity with AI tools and workflows such as prompting, agents, and automation; an engineering background is beneficial but not mandatory. Experience with proposals, pursuits, or RFP responses within a consulting or services firm environment is advantageous. A track record of original work, such as published writings, case competition wins, or independently developed analyses or products, is highly desirable.
