This role offers a unique opportunity to build a career within a global organization, contributing to a better working world by assisting clients with their tax objectives. You will grow your expertise, build relationships, and deliver high-quality, valued work.
As part of our specialized tax technical services team, you will engage with both US and global clients. EY provides a supportive and inclusive culture, powered by technology, enabling you to become the best version of yourself.
Your core responsibilities will involve supporting client engagements through daily team interactions and delivering quality work products by established deadlines. You will act as a trusted advisor, researching tax law, and providing insights to help clients navigate risks and identify potential needs for additional tax advisory or compliance services.
Key duties include performing tax research, preparing written tax advice, and filing federal and state tax returns, particularly complex Forms 1041 for trusts and estates. You'll also interpret wills and trust documents to determine fiduciary tax reporting requirements, analyze the tax treatment of transactions, and translate complex data into client-ready insights for informed decision-making.
To excel in this role, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required. You should possess a minimum of two years of experience in a professional services or tax services organization, with a focus on preparing federal and state fiduciary income tax returns. Ideal candidates will have experience preparing income tax returns with complex pass-through investments and interpreting trust agreements. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is crucial, as is a strong understanding of taxation, trusts and estates, wealth planning, and fiduciary income taxation. Demonstrated technical expertise in fiduciary accounting matters and excellent organizational and communication skills are also key.
