EY's National Tax and EY EDGE practice is seeking an Advanced Analyst to provide specialized tax technical services to both US and global clients. This role operates within a technical environment, leveraging deep process and service delivery experience to distinguish EY in the marketplace.

Engage in diverse projects, supporting client engagements through daily team interactions, delivering quality work, and driving service delivery to meet deadlines. Act as a trusted advisor and role model, researching tax law issues, and providing guidance to clients on risks and potential needs for additional tax advisory or compliance services.
Key responsibilities include conducting tax research, preparing written tax advice, and generating tax information statements and returns, including complex Forms 1041 and state income tax returns for trusts and estates. You will also review and interpret trust documents to ascertain fiduciary tax reporting requirements, confirm beneficiary allocations, and identify matters requiring further expert review.
Analyze the proper tax treatment of various transactions, ensuring accuracy in tax reporting, and translate complex data into client-ready insights and deliverables to support informed decision-making. Support the Fiduciary/Trust Tax Services practice with tax compliance engagements for banks, wealth management firms, trust companies, and law firms, working collaboratively with colleagues.
Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in professional services or tax services, specifically preparing federal and state fiduciary income tax returns.
Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential. Familiarity with trust accounting systems and tax software applications like ONESOURCE™ Trust Tax is required. Experience preparing income tax returns with complex pass-through investments and interpreting trust agreements is also necessary.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team, managing a variety of project complexities. Strong knowledge of taxation, trusts and estates, wealth planning, and fiduciary income taxation is vital. Build strong client relationships, understand their unique needs to offer tailored services, and manage workflow to meet client expectations and complete special projects.
Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills are required. Commitment to periodic travel (10-15%) is expected. Experience with CPA or EA certification or membership in The Bar is advantageous, as is thorough knowledge of tax compliance, information reporting rules, and fiduciary/income tax law concepts.
