This role focuses on international tax operations within the Center of Excellence (CoE), impacting capital markets and global tax regimes. As a Tax Manager, you will lead teams and oversee client service delivery for specific clients, geographies, or specializations, reporting to senior management and contributing to team development and resource deployment.
You will foster collaborative relationships with clients and internal teams, providing essential support for areas like tax reporting and withholding tax. This position offers the opportunity to shape your career within a dynamic and globally connected organization.
Key responsibilities include performing high-level reviews and analysis of indirect tax returns (VAT, GST, Withholding Tax) and demonstrating a strong command of international tax technical knowledge. You will be responsible for setting performance metrics, ensuring engagement economics, turnaround times, and quality targets are met. Identifying and championing new services for the sub-service line at GDS is also a crucial aspect.
Additional duties involve managing tax documentation remediation projects, reviewing complex filing forms like 1042-S and 1099, and ensuring operational tax types are ready for final sign-off. Cross-selling extended services, fostering open communication and idea sharing within teams, and developing team strengths through constructive feedback are vital. Maintaining team focus on work products, accountability for high-quality deliverables, and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through integrity and genuineness are also expected.
Successful candidates will possess a very high level of proficiency in international tax technical knowledge and an understanding of complex technical issues, proactively identifying and recommending solutions. Professionalism in demeanor, attitude, communication, and interaction is essential. You should actively seek opportunities to diversify client load and team exposure, fostering collaboration and constructive communication. Basic presentation and public speaking skills are required, along with the ability to communicate effectively via face-to-face interactions, phone, and email, choosing the appropriate communication method for each situation. Progress and project status updates to engagement leads are also necessary, alongside consistent adherence to practice protocols and internal processes.
