As a Medical Records Coding Associate, you will read and interpret patient documentation to understand diagnoses and assign appropriate codes. You will be responsible for transforming healthcare diagnoses, procedures, and medical services into universal alphanumeric codes. This involves creating a standardized vocabulary for describing patient conditions, ensuring uniform documentation across medical facilities and accurately reviewing clinical statements to assign standard codes.
Ideal candidates will possess at least 1 year of experience in a Healthcare BPO setting and hold a University degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of formal study in Life Sciences, BPT, Pharmacy, or Nursing. A strong foundation in human Anatomy and Physiology is essential. Additionally, you should have 1+ year of experience using Windows PC applications, including proficiency with keyboard navigation and learning new software tools. The ability to work flexible shifts from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM IST, with potential adjustments based on client needs, is required. Flexibility for overtime and weekend work based on business demands is also necessary. Returning to the office is mandatory when required by clients or business needs.
