As a Lead AI Tech Architect, you will spearhead the creation of innovative IT concepts and architectural solutions, working within interdisciplinary teams of designers, engineers, researchers, and consultants. Your expertise will be crucial in enabling organizations to undergo significant technical transformations.

This position is specifically designed for a leader to primarily serve the US Public Sector within BCG Platinion’s Architecture practice, though opportunities in commercial and private sectors will also arise. Ideal candidates will possess US Citizenship, an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one (e.g., DoD Secret/Top Secret), and a proven track record in portfolio and project management for US federal government agencies within a technology consulting context.

You will act as a technical expert, comfortable with ambiguity and adept at driving change. Embracing agile methodologies, you will collaborate effectively with diverse teams, envisioning novel design patterns for next-generation technology solutions, and serving as a hands-on practitioner and subject matter expert in IT Architecture.

To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree in fields such as Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Business Management, or System Controls & Engineering, with a Master's Degree being a preferred advantage. You should have a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software engineering, including over 4 years specifically within an architecture discipline.

Key qualifications include superior technical knowledge, engineering rigor, and exceptional creative problem-solving skills, along with the ability to articulate complex technology topics to senior executives. Extensive technical expertise spanning various technology stacks, cloud-native applications, omnichannel architecture, integration methodologies, API and microservices architecture, and database systems is essential. Experience with high-speed, high-volume transaction processing, real-time monitoring, disaster recovery, and next-generation capabilities like AI/ML, IoT, and Blockchain is highly valued.

Furthermore, a strong understanding of data analytics architecture, programming paradigms, process automation (DevOps, AIOps), and agile engineering practices is expected. An agile mindset focused on overcoming obstacles and a vision for iteratively advancing architectural capabilities with a clear focus on business value are critical. Proven fluency with Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) and the ability to validate their outputs are required. Willingness to travel extensively to client sites is also a necessary component of this role.
