We are seeking an Associate for our Strategy & Transactions - Valuation team in Mumbai. This role is part of the National sector-agnostic team, providing a well-rounded experience across various industries.

Through our Capital Agenda framework, we assist clients with critical strategic, financial, operational, and commercial inquiries. We support diverse entities, including corporates, private equity firms, governments, and educational institutions, in navigating complex financial issues. Our expertise spans portfolio review, capital allocation, financial planning analytics, and decision support, leveraging advanced analytics and tools to optimize capital deployment and manage risk/return trade-offs.

Our Connected Capital Solutions (CCS) encompass five key offerings: Strategy, Corporate Finance, Buy and Integrate, Sell and Separate, and Reshaping Results, all powered by our Connected Capital Technologies. Our core focus areas include Investment Banking Advisory, Valuations, Modeling and Economics, Transaction Diligence, Restructuring and Turnaround Services, Project Finance and Infrastructure, and EY Parthenon Strategy and Execution.

In this role, you will provide essential support to the engagement team, enhancing efficiency and productivity. You will assist in developing marketing pitches and independently manage financial modeling tasks.

Key responsibilities include supporting the team in engagement management, contributing to marketing efforts, and taking ownership of financial modeling responsibilities.

Our Valuation Group delivers independent and objective valuations, assessing financial and business opportunities and risks to optimize value and support management decision-making. We leverage a global network of specialists and a robust knowledge base to deliver exceptional client value. Our services include business valuation, brand and intangible asset valuation, fixed asset valuation, and financial model review. Methodologies employed include market price methods, comparable company multiples, discounted cash flow analysis, and net asset value methods.

We are looking for individuals with expertise in data analysis, financial analysis, and modeling, coupled with strong market research skills (both primary and secondary). Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.

Candidates should demonstrate an ability to thrive in unstructured environments and possess prior experience in Valuations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including report writing, are required, alongside strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with experience in Big 4 CA firms or reputable investment banks. A Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (preferably from a premier institute) with 1-3 years of relevant experience is required, including demonstrable financial modeling skills and experience building models from scratch. A proven record of solving complex problems and completing challenging projects is highly valued.

Ideal candidates will also have previous valuation experience within professional services or a Big 4 Firm. Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills are beneficial. Candidates should be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative, comfortable interacting with senior executives, and possess strong leadership and supervisory skills.
