In this role, you will provide technical excellence in supporting General Ledger and sub-ledger integration, including accounting rules, posting logic, and reconciliation design. You will maintain process maps, accounting treatment documentation, and end-to-end data lineage. Key responsibilities include assessing accounting impacts of product/process changes, supporting the design of target operating models and ledger architectures, and translating finance requirements into functional specifications.

You will collaborate with technology teams to shape solutions and ensure designs meet non-functional requirements. A significant part of the role involves defining and strengthening ledger controls, driving improvements to reconciliations and close efficiency, and supporting robust period-end close processes. Ensuring solutions align with accounting standards and regulatory expectations, and supporting internal/external audits are also crucial aspects of this position.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in ledger/finance change within a large bank, encompassing GL, sub-ledgers, accounting rules, reconciliations, and close processes. Proven ability to lead end-to-end functional design and delivery across complex data flows and multiple source systems is essential.

We are looking for candidates with a strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and operational risk in a regulated environment, coupled with experience in testing (SIT/UAT), including defining test strategies and supporting defect triage. Desirable experience includes exposure to IFRS/GAAP topics relevant to banking products, familiarity with ledger platforms and integration patterns, knowledge of data governance, and experience in large-scale transformation programmes. A professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, or CIMA, along with 4+ years of strong relevant experience, is required.
