At EY, we believe in limitless potential and are dedicated to offering motivating and fulfilling experiences to help you become your best professional self. This Assistant Manager/Manager role in Fund Accounting (FAAS) is a key part of our Assurance team, focusing on financial and accounting advisory services across various industries.

Our Assurance purpose is to inspire confidence and trust in a complex world by protecting the public interest, promoting transparency, supporting economic growth, and nurturing future business leaders. Our service offerings encompass External Audit, Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), IFRS & US GAAP conversion, IPO support, and Corporate Treasury services.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager/Manager in Fund Accounting, your technical expertise will be crucial. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing fund financial statements under IFRS/Ind AS or US GAAP for various private market funds. Accurately delivering month-end PnL & NAV reports in a timely manner is a key duty.

You will also prepare NAV Packs, Board Packs, and Investor Allocations, utilizing your experience with fund accounting platforms like Yardi or Investran. Proficiency in SQL, Python, Alteryx, Anaplan, Confluence, and JIRA is expected. As a techno-functional fund accounting BA, you will contribute to data migration and transformation within the private markets sector.

Core responsibilities include gathering requirements, conducting gap analysis, mapping processes, leading business testing, and maintaining thorough documentation within an Agile environment. You'll handle the booking of daily journal entries, management fee calculations, valuation of investments, and preparation of various financial and investor reports.

Further duties involve managing capital calls, distributions, and waterfall distributions. You will ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and comply with GAAP standards. Middle office functions, including P&L analysis and cash projections, are also part of the role. You will review general ledger exceptions, accrue non-security related items, and perform daily/monthly securities pricing analysis. Regular review and testing of control processes are essential for delivering quality service.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess a Chartered Accountant or CPA qualification. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fund accounting or a related financial services area is required.

We are seeking individuals who can collaborate effectively, providing services across multiple client departments while adhering to commercial and legal requirements. A practical, problem-solving approach with the ability to deliver insightful and actionable solutions is essential. Ideal candidates are agile, curious, mindful, and capable of maintaining positive energy, demonstrating adaptability and creativity.

Key skills include strong experience in preparing and reviewing fund financial statements under IFRS/Ind AS or US GAAP, particularly for Private Market funds. Demonstrable experience in delivering month-end PnL & NAV accurately and on time is critical. Experience with NAV Pack, Board Pack, and Investor Allocation preparation is necessary. Practical experience with platforms like Yardi, Investran, or LemonEdge, along with proficiency in SQL, Python, Alteryx, Anaplan, Confluence, and JIRA, is highly valued.

Functional domain experience in private markets, including data migration and transformation as a techno-functional fund accounting BA, is also a significant asset. Strong core capabilities in requirements gathering, gap analysis, process mapping, leading business testing, and documentation within an Agile environment are essential. Experience in booking journal entries, calculating management fees, accruals, and performing investment valuations is required. A solid understanding of Real Estate accounting principles under IFRS and US GAAP is beneficial. The ability to work in a virtual global team and manage cross-border relationships is important. Experience in processing capital calls, distributions, and waterfall distributions is a must. Finally, the capacity to perform middle office functions, including P&L analysis and daily cash projections, is expected.
