An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Manager in Hyderabad, focusing on Engineering as a Service and Operations. This role is crucial for defining scalable service boundaries, data flows, and integration strategies across multiple systems, ensuring robust and efficient operations.

The position demands deep expertise in advanced Java, including concurrency, collections, JVM tuning, and the Spring Boot/Spring ecosystem. A strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns is essential for success in this role.

Key responsibilities include defining scalable service boundaries, data flows, resiliency patterns, and integration strategies. You will be expected to design RESTful APIs, manage versioning, and implement microservices patterns like sagas and circuit breakers. Ensuring code quality through rigorous reviews, enforcing clean code and design principles, and mentoring engineers are also vital aspects of this role.

Additionally, this position involves identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks across various layers (JVM, APIs, DB, network) and establishing robust observability and reliability practices. This includes defining logging, metrics, and tracing standards, as well as setting up SLOs and alerting for production services. A solid understanding of security fundamentals is also required.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, specifically in delivering production Java services and APIs within enterprise environments. Prior team leadership experience, whether formal or informal, is essential, encompassing sprint execution, mentoring, and technical decision-making.

Candidates should possess experience leading complex, multi-system initiatives from initial design through to delivery, managing dependencies, trade-offs, and non-functional requirements. The ability to produce architecture artifacts and clearly communicate technical decisions to diverse audiences is a must.
