Seeking a skilled Assistant Manager to lead engineering initiatives in an Engineering as a Service and Operate environment. This role involves defining scalable system architectures, driving the development of robust Java services and APIs, and ensuring the reliability and security of cloud-hosted applications.

Key responsibilities include guiding technical decisions, mentoring engineering teams, and overseeing the complete lifecycle of complex, multi-system projects from conception to delivery.

Architect scalable service boundaries, data flows, and resiliency patterns for enterprise systems.

Develop and maintain advanced Java applications using Spring Boot and enterprise integration patterns.

Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices, adhering to best practices for versioning and backward compatibility.

Leverage AWS primitives for designing and deploying cost-effective, secure, and reliable services.

Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce high engineering standards, including clean code and secure coding practices.

Optimize application performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks in JVM, APIs, database queries, and network calls.

Establish robust observability, reliability, and on-call readiness for production services.

Ensure adherence to security fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, and secure API practices.

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, specifically in delivering production Java services and APIs within enterprise settings.

Demonstrated experience in team leadership, including sprint execution, mentoring junior engineers, making sound technical decisions, and coordinating across multiple teams.

Proven ability to lead complex, multi-system initiatives from the initial design phase through successful delivery, managing dependencies, trade-offs, and stakeholder expectations.

Proficiency in producing architectural documentation such as High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, as well as sequence diagrams, and effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Experience designing and operating cloud-native applications, with a strong focus on security, monitoring, and cost optimization.
