You will play a key role in designing and implementing innovative products and features within our Engineering as a Service/Operate division. Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and user interfaces using Java and modern front-end frameworks for Disney’s Ad Platform. Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to deliver impactful advertising features. Translate user stories into actionable engineering tasks, managing them from development through deployment. Mentor and support team members through code reviews and guidance. Enhance system observability by implementing metrics, monitoring, and alerting solutions. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure operational excellence. Champion best practices in code quality, automated testing, and agile workflows. Utilize automated tools, including AI, while adhering to company policies.

A minimum of 9 to 12 years of hands-on software engineering experience is required. Demonstrate proficiency in Java and associated frameworks like Spring Boot, along with experience in ORMs. Possess experience with ReactJS or other modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue, Angular) and a willingness to embrace new technologies. Have a solid background in relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema and query design. Experience working with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems is essential. A strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures and algorithms, is crucial. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are necessary to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications include experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or real-time bidding platforms, along with familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and modern DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes. Experience with data streaming mechanisms like Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or SNS/SQS is also beneficial.
