Join our team as a Lead Backend Developer, focusing on Java, Spring Boot, and distributed microservices. You will be instrumental in designing scalable and reliable backend systems, championing top-tier engineering practices, and architecting robust platforms. This role involves mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including React/TypeScript frontend developers, to deliver exceptional product experiences that are seamless, secure, and performant.

Architect and develop end-to-end backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native principles. Design distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant microservices with a focus on observability, resilience, and performance. Implement high-quality REST and GraphQL APIs for efficient data flow and low-latency interactions. Design systems considering concurrency, multi-threading, memory management, and performance tuning. Implement modern authentication and authorization patterns, including OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and RBAC.

Collaborate with security teams on secure coding, encryption, and compliance. Ensure seamless backend-frontend authentication flows. Partner with frontend teams (React/TypeScript) to define API contracts and optimize data delivery. Design type-safe API boundaries using OpenAPI/Swagger or JSON Schema. Support real-time communication via WebSockets or Kafka.

Design and maintain event-driven systems using Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ. Build resilient services for high-traffic environments. Contribute to CI/CD improvements, containerization, and deployment automation. Ensure production readiness through comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting. Participate in incident reviews to enhance system reliability.

Lead technical initiatives, guide architectural decisions, and promote best practices in coding and testing. Mentor backend engineers through code reviews and skill development. Collaborate with Product and Design teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in building highly scalable backend systems with Java, Spring Boot, and modern microservices patterns is required. You should possess an expert understanding of distributed systems, service-to-service communication, caching, and data consistency models. Proven experience in designing and scaling APIs for large applications is essential.

Demonstrated strong experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, ORM frameworks, and data modeling for both transactional and analytical workloads. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, containerization, and Kubernetes deployments is necessary. A strong foundation in testing methodologies such as JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, integration tests, and contract testing is expected. You must have a proven ability to lead complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
