Join our Assurance team as an Assistant Manager, contributing to the Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) division in Mumbai. This role is part of a national sector-agnostic team, offering diverse industry experiences. Assurance's core purpose is to build confidence and trust in a complex world by safeguarding the public interest, promoting transparency, and fostering economic growth. We empower clients by ensuring their accounts meet audit standards, providing clear perspectives to audit committees, and delivering essential information to stakeholders.
Manage and execute FAAS projects, developing and implementing tailored solutions for clients. You'll identify and pursue business opportunities, manage client accounts, and mentor junior team members, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning. Integration with other EY service lines on multidisciplinary projects will be key, alongside contributing to thought leadership and marketing initiatives. Regular travel is anticipated for client engagements.
Key areas of work include GAAP conversions (IGAAP to Ind-AS), reverse conversions for overseas acquisitions, consolidation implementation and accounting manuals, and accounting support for new consolidation systems. Transaction support involves IFRS impact assessments, EBITDA analysis, carve-out and demerger accounting, and accounting policy alignment. Tax and tax reporting encompass accounting solutions for tax planning and structuring. IPO preparedness involves assessing financial reporting readiness and project managing financial information for the IPO process. Additionally, you will provide IFRS training, ad-hoc support, and on-call services, including accounting support for new business models and white paper advice on specific transactions.
Candidates must be a qualified CA, CPA, ICAEW, or ACCA, with a strong academic record including first or second-time passes from ICAI or equivalent. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience is required, with robust experience in IGAAP and/or IFRS and/or US GAAP financial reporting within complex/large companies, potentially in audit, advisory, transaction verticals, or MNC finance/M&A environments. The ability to simplify complex accounting and financial reporting issues is essential, alongside an advisory mindset to develop client solutions with subject matter expert support.
Depending on the level, business development skills and aptitude are valued, with a strong track record expected for Senior Manager and above roles. Specific experience in at least one of the following is crucial: Transactions (acquisitions, carve-outs, demergers), IPO preparation, complex MNC consolidation structures, tax planning, delivering technical training, or specific financial reporting topics like revenue recognition or financial instruments. Strong project management and excellent communication skills are mandatory.
