This Assistant Manager role within National Assurance (ASU) - FAAS, focusing on Financial & Accounting Advisory Services, is based in Bangalore. National teams work across various industries, offering a well-rounded experience. Assurance's mission is to inspire confidence and trust by safeguarding the public interest, promoting transparency, supporting economic growth, and developing future business leaders. We assist clients by ensuring compliance with audit standards, providing clear perspectives to audit committees, and delivering critical information to stakeholders. Our service offerings include external audit, financial accounting advisory services (FAAS), IFRS & US GAAP conversion, IPO support, and corporate treasury accounting.
As an Assistant Manager, you will be instrumental in enhancing technical excellence within the team. Your key responsibilities include supporting General Ledger and sub-ledger integration, defining accounting rules, and designing robust reconciliation processes. You will maintain essential documentation like ledger process maps and accounting treatment records, ensuring end-to-end data lineage. Your role involves assessing the accounting impacts of product and process changes, and contributing to the design of target operating models and ledger architectures, including controls and governance.
You will translate finance requirements into clear functional specifications, collaborating with technology teams to shape solution options and evaluate trade-offs. A significant part of your role will be defining and strengthening ledger controls for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, segregation of duties, and audit trails. You will also drive improvements in reconciliations, breaks management, and close efficiency, ensuring Finance is prepared for period-end close processes and change releases. Ensuring solutions align with accounting standards and regulatory expectations, and supporting internal/external audits are also core duties.
To excel in this role, you will need strong, relevant experience (3-6 years) in ledger/finance change within a large banking environment, encompassing GL, sub-ledgers, accounting rules, reconciliations, and close processes. A proven ability to lead end-to-end functional design and delivery across complex data flows and multiple source systems is essential. You should possess a strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and operational risk in regulated settings. Experience with testing phases like SIT/UAT, including defining test strategies, scenarios, and supporting defect triage, is also required.
While not mandatory, exposure to IFRS/GAAP topics relevant to banking products, experience with ledger platforms and integration patterns (e.g., SAP/Oracle GL, Murex, Calypso, ETL), knowledge of data governance and lineage, and experience in large-scale transformation programs would be advantageous. Qualified accountant status (CA/ ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) or an MBA Finance is preferred. We seek individuals who can work collaboratively, possess a practical problem-solving approach, and demonstrate agility, curiosity, and creativity. The ability to sustain positive energy and adapt to changing environments is highly valued.
