This role focuses on National Assurance within the FAAS (Financial Accounting Advisory Services) team, specializing in Financial & Accounting Advancements. We operate across industries, providing a well-rounded experience. Assurance's core purpose is to inspire confidence and trust by protecting the public interest, promoting transparency, and supporting economic growth. We assist clients by ensuring their accounts comply with audit standards, providing clear perspectives to audit committees, and delivering critical information to stakeholders.

Our service offerings encompass External Audit, Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), IFRS & US GAAP conversion, IPO support, and Corporate Treasury accounting, including IFRS 9 implementation.

Drive technical excellence by supporting General Ledger and sub-ledger integration, accounting rules, posting logic, and reconciliation design. Maintain ledger process maps, accounting treatment documentation, and end-to-end data lineage. Assess accounting impacts of product and process changes, including new booking models and legal entity requirements. Support the design of target operating models and ledger architectures, including controls and governance.

Translate finance requirements into functional specifications, ensuring traceability from requirement to sign-off. Collaborate with technology teams to shape solution options and ensure designs meet non-functional requirements like resilience and performance. Define and strengthen ledger controls for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, segregation of duties, and audit trails. Improve reconciliations and close efficiency, and ensure robust period-end close processes.

Ensure solutions align with accounting standards and regulatory expectations (e.g., IFRS, local GAAP). Support internal and external audits by providing evidence and remediation plans. Contribute to governance forums and secure appropriate approvals.

To excel in this role, you need strong experience in ledger/finance change within a large banking environment, covering GL, sub-ledgers, accounting rules, reconciliations, and close processes. A proven ability to lead end-to-end functional design and delivery across complex data flows and multiple source systems is essential.

You must possess a strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and operational risk within a regulated environment. Experience with testing phases like SIT/UAT, including defining test strategy, scenarios, and supporting defect triage, is also required.

Desirable skills include exposure to IFRS/GAAP topics relevant to banking products, experience with ledger platforms and integration patterns (e.g., SAP/Oracle GL, Murex/Calypso, ETL/data lakes), knowledge of data governance, lineage, and reporting controls, and experience in large-scale transformation programs.

For qualifications, a Qualified Accountant (CA/ ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) or an MBA Finance is preferred. We are seeking candidates with 3-6 years of strong, relevant experience. You should demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively, possess a practical approach to problem-solving, and exhibit agility, curiosity, mindfulness, and creativity.
