Join our team as an Application Support Engineer, where you'll act as a software detective, identifying and resolving issues within critical business systems. - Deliver L2 and L3 support for Data Build Tool (DBT) driven data pipelines, resolving incidents and service requests promptly. - Diagnose and fix complex DBT model failures, data quality problems, and performance bottlenecks in production. - Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventative strategies. - Partner with data engineering and analytics teams to refine and maintain DBT models and packages. - Proactively monitor pipeline health and identify operational risks. - Manage and enhance incremental models and data vault integrations. - Support platform changes and DBT version upgrades with minimal service impact. - Develop and update technical documentation and support procedures for DBT workflows. - Coordinate with L1 support for efficient issue triage and escalation. - Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience with the Data Build Tool (DBT) is essential, alongside 4-7 years in data engineering. - Proficiency in SQL and experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks. - Strong understanding of data modelling concepts, including Data Vault or Kimball methodologies. - Prior experience in production support, incident management, and delivering within SLAs. - Familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or dbt Cloud. - Skill in Python scripting for data pipeline troubleshooting and automation. - Experience with Git version control and CI/CD for DBT deployments. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage pressure and engage diverse stakeholders. - Knowledge of ITIL-based support frameworks is beneficial. - A full-time education spanning 15 years is required.
