As an Android Framework Developer, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing Android framework components and HAL services for automotive applications. This includes customizing AOSP and Android Automotive OS (AAOS) frameworks, developing OEM framework extensions, and integrating/optimizing services for automotive use cases.
You will collaborate closely with product owners and cross-functional teams to deliver features that meet customer needs. Key responsibilities also involve performing performance analysis and optimization to meet automotive KPIs, engaging in full-stack Android development across framework and middleware, and participating in Agile processes, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows. Maintaining technical documentation and contributing to architecture discussions are also vital aspects of this role.
We are looking for candidates with strong expertise in Android Framework architecture, AOSP, AAOS, and Android services. Essential experience includes Android HAL development, custom HAL implementation, and working with the Car Framework. A solid understanding of AIDL and HIDL-based communications, alongside experience in developing OEM Framework Extension Services and platform customizations, is required.
Proficiency in C++ and experience with Java/Kotlin are necessary, with Rust knowledge being a plus. You should possess a good understanding of Git and CI/CD workflows, coupled with experience in Agile development environments. Excellent debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills are critical, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams and stakeholders.
